Coleman Glacier Ice Climbing
Trip Report
We set out to go ice climbing on the Coleman glacier ice fall. In theory, this is ~2k feet of elevation gain from the parking lot, but due to the washed out road (Update: fixed in 2024!) this was a much longer hike. The creek crossings were above knee height and quite tricky to navigate. We went to the viewpoint (the destination for most day hikers) and scrambled down on loose scree. The downclimb is steep and loose, but doable. From there, you quickly end up on the glacier where the fun begins.
